Cameron Sowter is a final-year medical student, studying at the University of New South Wales Wagga Wagga Rural Clinical School. He has been involved in ARITE nice 2024 where he presented his research reporting short and long-term weightloss outcomes for patients undergoing primary bariatric surgery at a major centre in regional NSW. He is interested in pursuing a surgical career and this research demonstrates his commitment to undertaking high-quality research that provides opportunities for rural and regional patients to receive innovative surgical treatments within their local communities.
