Patrick Lay is a Junior Medical Officer at Wagga Wagga Base Hospital and has a strong interest in critical care and resuscitation medicine. He completed a Doctor of Medicine at Charles Sturt University, following an undergraduate Bachelor of Nursing, and worked as a critical care nurse throughout his medical training. He has published in Resuscitation on Extracorporeal Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (ECPR) for out of hospital cardiac arrest and has presented at the national Rural Medicine Australia (RMA) 2022 conference on the need for increased rural specialty training positions. He has also conducted multiple clinical audits, including a project that led to a multi-site quality improvement initiative to standardise difficult airway trolley equipment across regional hospitals.
