Saara is a 5th year medical student at UNSW and has been in Wagga Wagga since the beginning of her degree. In 2025 she completed research in neonatal and paediatric aeromedical retrievals, focussing on how we can increase the capacity for regional centres to manage sick kids.
She presented this research at the Regional Paediatrics Conference in Wagga Wagga and at NETS (Newborn and Paediatric Emergency Transport Service). She was originally from coastal Queensland but has fallen in love with what country communities have to offer while completing her degree in rural NSW.
